The Zhongshan-created musical Bright Red Kapok was featured in the 5th Tianqiao Musical Performance Season on the evenings of January 6 and 7, marking its capital debut. Both performances earned enthusiastic acclaim from Beijing audiences.

Through a panoramic narrative, the musical vividly portrays the life of Yang Yin (1892-1929), a native of Xiangshan (now Zhongshan) in Guangdong, who dedicated himself to revolutionary struggle as a key early leader of the Communist Party of China, a pioneer in military work, and a trailblazer in intelligence and security operations.
Since its May 2021 premiere, the musical has staged 25 performances across cities including Zhongshan, Guangzhou, and Tumushuke in Xinjiang.
