Shenzhen Thondar Technology, a national key "little giant" enterprise, started construction on its Zhongshan R&D and industrialization base in Torch High-Tech Zone on January 10.
The project will establish an R&D hub for innovative medical products, an eye health big data center, and a national-level precision optics lab. It aims to create a full-chain industrial base focused on advanced medical equipment, precision optics and optical lenses.
Established in 2024, Thondar Zhongshan secured the project land in April 2025. With 1.5 billion yuan total investment, the project targets annual output of 1,500 ophthalmic diagnostic devices and 1.5 million pairs of myopia prevention glasses upon full operation.
That day, Thondar also unveiled the latest "Seewant AI Smart Glasses", co-developed with world's leading providers of ICT solutions and cloud computing service providers, on the ShenZhong Link west island.
